There’s wild berry fruit and earthy-herbal aromas in this garnet colored Tempranillo. With a smooth structure and full body, there are wonderful notes of herb de Provence, tobacco and vanilla in its savory flavor profile. This wine will definitely benefit from aging in a cellar. It drinks well now, but given another 2-3 years, the wine will continue to develop and integrate. Cellar up to 10 years.
Pairing Suggestions: Tempranillo is a great wine to bring to the dinner table. It pairs well with lamb kebabs, venison, or Italian sausage lasagna.
SILVER, 2017 SF Chronicle Wine Competition
Sourced from Estate Vineyard which was planted in 2006. The Tempranillo grape is native to Spain, and its name is a reference to its earlier (Temprano) ripening. At Harney Lane Winery we actually harvest this grape at the end of our season. With Lodi’s ideal growing conditions, this additional ripening time helps develop a richer texture and suppler tannins.
