2016 Albarino~Sold Out

Light and bright, this wine showcases the pretty citrus notes and delicate tropical fruit aromas distinct to Lodi Albariños.  There’s a sense of balance between the gorgeous fruit and the crisp clean acidity that lend itself to a pleasantly vibrant experience.

Pairing Suggestions: This famous Spanish varietal goes well with mildly flavored fish, such as halibut or sablefish, and is a perfect match for raw shellfish.  Also try it with fresh honeydew and cantaloupe melon on a hot summer day.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2016 vintage was again an earlier than normal harvest due to warmer temperatures and the lack of rain.  This yielded smaller yields, and earlier fruit concentration.   Hand harvested in the early morning, the cool grapes were pressed whole cluster to tank for cold settling.  The juice was then clean racked and fermented cold, with select yeast strains. Then the wine was racked to a portion stainless steel barrels and some carefully selected neutral oak barrels.  Wine was aged, sur lie, for a short period before being blended for an early spring bottling.
