With a medium ruby color and aromas of cherry with hints of white pepper spice, dill and tobacco leaf. On the palate, the Tempranillo is medium bodied and fruit forward, with ripe plum and fresh raspberry flavors, highlighted by nuances of cedar and vanilla notes.
The 2016 vintage arrived earlier, but with traditional yields. Tempranillo were the last grapes of the season to be harvested at Harney Lane Winery, and enjoying the longest hang time for optimal ripeness. Time on the vine allowed tannins to go from “green” to more ripe and mature, offering less bitterness and more supple structure.
