2017 Petite Sirah, Home Ranch
Dark, inky violet hues give a striking first impression of this robust Petite Sirah. With perfumed aromas of blueberry cobbler, vanilla, peppery spice and toasted oak campfire, it exudes both comfort and daring intensity. Flavors are densely textured on the palate, with black coffee, dark chocolate and hints of cinnamon accompanying a full body and thick, luxurious tannins on the finish.
DOUBLE GOLD, BEST OF CLASS, 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
The 2017 vintage was marked by a wet winter and spring that produced healthy vines and a balanced fruit set. A warm spell during the early part of harvest allowed the grapes to ripen quickly, while retaining their natural acidity. This 2017 Harney Lane Petite Sirah shows great depth and concentration. Its structure will allow it to develop over the next decade, making it an excellent wine for drinking now or cellaring for continued integration.
