2017 Tempranillo

Tasting Notes
Flavors of black currant, tobacco leaf and savory plum sauce intertwine with a touch of floral violets and herbaceous sage. This bold vintage has big textural elements of chalky tannins and dark chocolate, with good weight to the body and finish.

Winemaking Notes
The 2017 vintage was marked by a wet winter and spring that produced healthy vines and a balanced fruit set. A warm spell during the early part of harvest allowed the Tempranillo grapes to ripen quickly while retaining their natural acidity. Although traditionally an early harvested grape, Tempranillo is one of the final grapes to be harvested at Harney Lane Winery, allowing the fruit to come to full expression.
