Savory and rich with indulgent earthy flavors
Lot 22 of the Patriarch’s Promise has a deep ruby color. There’s an exotic nose of black currant, ripe red pepper and an herb-like sage note. On the palate, there are notes of baked plum, dark spices, earthiness, and plenty of structure.
In honor of our Patriarch, George Mettler, 10% of proceeds from every bottle of his Patriarch's Promise sold are donated to the American Cancer Society. Learn more here.

Winemaking Notes
“The Patriarch’s Promise is an exceptional wine that was the result of George Mettler’s (The Patriarch) desire to prove that a forgotten Lodi grape variety still had the potential to be a part of Lodi’s legacy as a world-class wine producer.” -Chad Joseph, Winemaker
Planted over 50 years ago, Patriarch’s originates from a variety that was to become a star in Lodi’s wine grape growing history. However, many winemakers did not take the time needed to age this finicky wine and it was soon supplanted with other grape varieties. Harney Lane’s Patriarch George Mettler did not remove all of his vineyard, leaving a small patch that would become our Patriarch’s Promise. With attention to detail and time to age, this multi-vintage wine offers a unique and delicious finished product that remains a family secret!
