Patriarch's Promise, Lot 18
A uniquely complex wine, with dense color and aromas of cassis, currant, blueberry, cocoa and vanilla cream. Medium to full bodied, this wine is well structured with firm tannins, finishing with flavors of licorice, earthiness and spice.
Planted over 50 years ago, Patriarch’s originates from a variety that was to become a star in Lodi’s wine grape growing history. However, many winemakers did not take the time needed to age this finicky wine and it was soon supplanted with other grape varieties. Harney Lane's Patriarch George Mettler did not remove all of his vineyard, leaving a small patch that would become our Patriarch’s Promise. With attention to detail and time to age, this multi-vintage wine offers a unique and delicious finished product that remains a family secret!
