Classic Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon with aromas of black currant, cassis and black tea. 2014 Cabernet is medium bodied with silky tannins and hints of sweet oak, making this wine perfectly balanced and totally approachable. An excellent food wine!
The 2014 vintage can be characterized as being low in yields and very concentrated. This was due to the warmer winter and spring, plus the lower than normal rainfall. This Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard was hand selected due to its low yields and vine balance and is the second of only two vintages produced. The wine saw 20 months of barrel aging in some new French oak barrels (30% new), yielding a complex wine with good integration. Enjoy now or cellar 5-7 years.
