Harney Lane's proprietary wine, made in honor of our Patriarch, is filled with Intriguing aromas of dark berry fruit, baked currant and spiced plum. This savory wine has well integrated tannins and a plush texture that leads into a beautiful finish. Delicious now but will cellar up to 10 years.
10% of all proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Soceity in honor of our Patriarch, George Mettler.
This vineyard is the result of a planting that took place over 50 years ago to a variety that was to become a star in Lodi’s wine grape growing history. Unfortunately, many winemakers didn’t take the time needed to age this finicky wine and the variety was soon supplanted to other grape varieties. George Mettler, the Patriarch of Harney Lane Winery, did not remove all of his vineyard, leaving a small patch of this variety that would later become Patriarch’s Promise. With attention to detail and time to age, this multi-vintage wine shows the potential of a once forgotten star in Lodi’s grape growing history.
"The Patriarch's Promise is a fun wine that was the result of George Mettler's desire to prove some of Lodi's forgotten grape varieties still hold the promise to Lodi's future." ~Chad Joseph, Winemaker
