Sourced from a local vineyard that Harney Lane has farmed for many years and were lucky enough acquire as our own in 2014. Nicknamed the “Blueberry Vineyard” by previous winemakers, we were able to maintain the rich history and essence of the Scottsdale Vineyard in our finished product.
In 2016, our Scottsdale Vineyard produced a wine with vibrant blackberry and characteristic blueberry jam aromas, paired with hints of cardamom and pepper. Perfectly balanced, this wine showcases good body and structure for a plush Zinfandel finish.
GOLD, 2018 California Zinfandel Championship
The 2016 vintage was marked by slightly warmer than normal winter, and an earlier than normal bud break and harvest date. This vintage was characterized as being in a third year of drought with lower than normal rainfall, which meant smaller berries with more concentration and character. Wine was fermented using a small portion of feral yeast and inoculated yeast, aged mostly in neutral oak barrels with 14% in new French Oak. Only minimal treatments were used during the winemaking process for a more natural approach.
